Come on in.. So, I thought I would show you the inside of the house along with the progress that has been made with some of the demo.
We have spent a total of 6 days in the space working so far, for the past two weekends, It’s been only me and then I had my design assistant, Miriah, on demo and clean up for two weekdays as well. Thankfully she loves projects and believe it or not, getting in there and taking things apart can teach you so much on how they have to go back together. We are definitely classifying this as on the job training!! The guys have had a few hours this past week to stop in and do some heavy lifting and moving for me getting things ready to go for their arrival full time on site.
Main Living Space
So far we have taken up carpets and soooo much tack strip! …
Kitchen wall
We have pulled that weird brick wall that held appliances in the kitchen and found real century old brick on the chimney that runs through the kitchen. I am currently working through some thoughts to incorporate that in my design plan.
Powder Room
I removed wallpaper from the tiniest powder room on the planet, two layers of it! This pretty (haha) green wall is what we have been left with until the toilet and existing floor can come up.
Fireplace Mantle
My Friend, Jess brought champagne one Sunday night and we decided it would be a good time to pull out the fireplace mantle! I have a fun new plan for that as well.

Flagstone Floor
Miriah pulled out the kitchen floor herself, it was so much easier than anticipated AND underneath the flag stone, we found the maple that runs through straight from the dining room . What a blessing! This created a big plan change in the best possible way. I was planning on having to purchase all new flooring for in there.
Upstairs
The wallpaper in the master has been removed. We found a cool hidey hole in there. Think about all the things this house has seen and heard.. if only walls could talk. I am so completely facinated and enamored with this house. I can’t even handle all the cool little finds along the way.
The hall and the furthest back bedroom are completely cleaned, patched, painted and set up as my office..

I tackled the bathroom yesterday, most of the floor came up easily and then started giving me a hard time.
The wallpaper gave me a rough go as well and took far to long and did some damage coming off but it will get a face lift soon and I will have some sense of accomplishment when that happens.
The Bath Plan is to keep the vanity, add new fixtures and to repaper with an updated fun pattern.
Until I just wrote all of that, I have been feeling like progress inside Kvell House is going slow.
Even though I am already fully aware, and I warn my clients at the inception of each remodel, I am being personally reminded how they feel every day with their projects. Patience is a definite necessity during a renovation, even if your not living there it starts to feel like nothing is happening until the “pretty” starts getting installed.
My guys are all on some pretty amazing customer projects right now, cause lets face it, customers definitely come first and without them we wouldn’t have a business to begin with.
I am so excited to get this into the schedule and get started seeing it all come to life though!
